Ellison and Braden Convey found TFI in October 2022. Since becoming licensed in April 2023, the family has welcomed two children with high needs into their home. Their first placement was a female teen whose case goal was to move to her grandparents in another state after the school year ended. They accepted placement before the ink on their new license had a chance to dry! Ellison and Braden provided structure, consistency and understanding of her trauma history. After the grandparent’s ICPC was completed, the teen was placed with her grandparents.
Late one Friday night in October 2023, the Convey family accepted placement of a newborn who was fighting for his life in the NICU. For the next 10 days, Ellison and Braden stayed by his side 24/7 in the NICU until the newborn was cleared for discharge. His cord tested positive for 3 illegal substances. The child has been in their care more than 650 days.
TFI is grateful for the Convey family for making connections with foster children’s birth families and their loving care and support of children.
