Michelle became a kinship home for a teenager in July of 2023. The male teen was on respite at her home, visiting her sister. The male teen enjoyed the week at Michelle’s home so much that he said he would like to move in with her. Although Michelle already had a busy and fun home with her two sons, one daughter, and her son’s partner and their newborn, she had a soft spot for the teen. She agreed to foster him. The teen started school in the fall and had a successful sophomore year. The teen said he always felt comfortable and loved by Michelle, even when she ensured he was doing his homework and completing the Diversion program. One year later, Michelle entered into Guardianship with the teen, giving him permanency for the first time in years. TFI is grateful for women like Michelle!
