The Family Initiative, Inc. (TFI) proudly announces Rachelle Roosevelt, TFI’s Chief Program Officer, as the recipient of the prestigious Scouting America 2025 Silver Beaver Award. She received the award at the Quivira Council Scouting America Annual Banquet on Feb. 8 in Wichita, KS. This significant recognition honors individuals who exhibit exceptional character and have a history of distinguished service to the Scouting community within a council of Scouting America.

Roosevelt, a lifelong resident of southcentral Kansas, is a dedicated advocate for scouting, actively participating in council and district planning for initiatives like ‘Scouting for Food’, which educates scouts about food insecurity and emphasizes the importance of community service, collecting over 21000 pounds of food across the council in 2024.

“I’m truly honored to receive the award,” says Roosevelt. “This recognition is not just a personal achievement; it’s a reflection of the incredible community that surrounds me. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of scouting to empower young people with skills and values that will guide them throughout their lives.”

Her leadership roles include serving as a Cubmaster of Pack 232, Committee Chair of Troop 1232 and Committee Member for Troop 232 in Towanda where she teaches children and youth the values of leadership, perseverance and community involvement. Additionally, she has inspired and guided three of her children to achieve the prestigious ranks of Eagle Scout and Life Scout.

With an impressive 23 years of service at TFI, she has shown unwavering dedication to the organization’s mission of supporting families in need. Her commitment to her church and the local community underlines her nurturing spirit and unwavering support for those around her. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rachelle Roosevelt, not only for receiving the Silver Beaver Award but also for her invaluable contributions and the impact she has made on countless lives in her community.

“Rachelle’s commitment to our community truly makes her a remarkable leader. Her warmth and dedication inspire others, and we are so fortunate to have her in our TFI family,” said Michael Patrick, TFI CEO.

TFI encourages everyone to follow Rachelle’s example by getting involved in their community.
