Amanda Anders is an online teacher and opened her home in Lubbock, Texas back in December 2021. Amanda received her first placement back in February 2022 and has fostered 6 foster children since she opened her home. She was finally able to adopt Charli Anders recently in January 2025. She fostered her for over 2 years and has loved every minute of it.
Amanda has always loved children and it’s what made her become a teacher in the first place. She has always had a heart for children in need which helped start her journey in foster care. Being in the public school system, she saw so many kids who would have thrived if they just had a more stable, loving and supportive home life.
After her sister fostered some kids through a kinship placement, she was able to learn about the process a little better and knew that it was something she wanted to do. She is extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to meet and adopt Charli as well as fostering all of her other children. Amanda took Charli on a cruise in July 2024 and her goal is to have Charli visit every state before she turns 18. They have already marked a few of the states off of her list and her end goal is to take her to Hawaii as a birthday present when she is older.
