TFI employee promoted to Senior Vice President
Lubbock, TX (October 15, 2023) – The Family Initiative (TFI) is pleased to announce Melissa Wood as the new Senior Vice President of Clinical and Assessment Services.
Wood has over 23 years of experience in the foster care field. Before serving as the Senior Vice President of Clinical and Assessment Services, Wood was the Director of Intake and Placement for over 2 years. Prior to coming to TFI, she served as the Senior Vice President over Quality Assurance, Admissions, Clinical Services and Community-Based Care at a large Texas social services agency. She has also previously served as a VP of Quality Assurance, a child therapist, and a Residential Treatment Center Clinical Director.

As the Senior Vice President of Clinical and Assessment Services, Wood will provide oversight of TFI’s Intake and Placement Department, as well as being responsible for managing TFI’s Clinical and Prevention programs, including Family Preservation.
Wood received her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University. She received her Master’s in Counseling and Development from Texas Women’s University. She is a licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor.
In Fiscal Year 2023, TFI served more than 6,227 children in prevention, foster care, adoption, and residential services.
