Longtime TFI employee promoted to Senior Vice President

The Family Initiative, Inc. (TFI) is pleased to announce Pam Richardson, LMSW, as the new Senior Vice President of Foster Care and Residential Services.

Richardson has more than 26 years of experience in child and family well-being services, most of which have been with TFI.

Richardson began her career as a youth care worker with Kaw Valley Residential Center in Pittsburg, Kan. She was later promoted to educational coordinator and worked with Kaw Valley until joining TFI in June of 2000. She has held various roles with TFI, including foster care worker, foster care supervisor, foster care director and vice president of foster care.

Richardson has served on many internal and external collaboratives throughout her career, as well as implemented new programs to enhance the quality of care within TFI.

In her new role, Richardson will oversee and manage foster care programs in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as residential programs in Kansas and Texas. She will also oversee the expansion of service in Missouri and continue to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality, growth and positive outcomes for children in care. Her new role will also involve strategic planning, program development and operational management to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.

Richardson received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. She is licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board in Kansas.

In Fiscal Year 2023, TFI served more than 6,227 children in prevention, foster care, adoption, and residential services. TFI is actively recruiting foster families to provide a loving caring home to children in foster care.
