The inspiring journey of Kimberly Copeland, a community engagement specialist at 2INgage, and her husband, Kevin, on their path to adoption has transformed their lives and those of many in our community.
A Journey of Love and Resilience:
For years, Kimberly and Kevin Copeland dreamed of starting a family. They imagined the simple joys of raising a child, but as time passed without success, they faced heartache and uncertainty. Determined to become parents, they turned to fostering with the hope of adoption. Though different from their original vision, this path soon became the perfect choice.
Their fostering journey began in May 2023, and by August of the same year, they received a life-changing call about a little boy named Jayson. From the moment Jayson entered their home, he brought a magical energy that filled their lives with laughter and love. Over time, Jayson seamlessly integrated into their family, and it became clear that he was meant to be their son.
A ‘No Matter What Family’:
On May 17, 2024, Kimberly and Kevin officially finalized their adoption of Jayson, marking the joyous beginning of their new life as a family. Reflecting on their journey, Kimberly and Kevin express immense gratitude, knowing that Jayson was always meant to be a part of their lives.
“He wasn’t just a child in foster care. He was our son,” said Copeland.

Kimberly offers heartfelt advice to those considering fostering or adoption:
“Fostering is more than providing temporary care; it’s a profound calling requiring emotional resilience, dedication and a deep sense of responsibility. While the journey may be challenging, it brings immense rewards. Witnessing a child thrive in a loving environment is unparalleled.”

Jayson, now a happy, independent 3-year-old, continues to bring joy and fulfillment to the Copeland family. Their story is a testament to the transformative power of love and family.
