Celebrating Child Welfare Workforce Month: Honoring the Heroes Behind the Scenes

In recognition of September as Child Welfare Workforce Month, TFI Family Services, Inc. (TFI) would like to recognize the dedicated professionals who make a profound impact on the lives of children and families every day. From social workers and case managers to support staff and administrators, these individuals are the unsung heroes of their community, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure safety, stability, and hope for families in need.
TFI is proud to spotlight Meridith Lynn, TFI director of permanency, in Pittsburg, Kan. With more than four years of dedicated service to the organization, Lynn has been a cornerstone of the TFI team, demonstrating exceptional commitment and leadership in her role. Lynn initially joined TFI as a permanency case worker, where her dedication and skill quickly set her apart. Her journey from caseworker to director highlights her profound impact on the organization and the families it serves.
In her current role as director of permanency she is instrumental in supporting and coaching her staff, team development and resource management. In addition, Lynn’s dedication to the families she serves has been extraordinary. One family is a mom who wanted to improve for her kids. Lynn supported the mom as she found her sobriety and stable housing. Ultimately, due to her hard work, the mom could reunify with her children. Lynn gifted the mother a bracelet with the message, ‘Life is tough, my darling, but so are you.’
“I keep in touch with her and get updates and photos of her thriving family,” said Lynn.
She wants people to know of child welfare, “We are helpers before anything else. And there is not a person…who doesn’t need help from time to time,” said Lynn.
As we honor Child Welfare Workforce Month, we are reminded of the profound impact our staff has on the lives of the children we serve. Their steadfast dedication, patience, and positive impact are the foundation of TFI, and we are honored to have them as integral members of our team.
