Wichita Falls, Texas (July 7, 2020) – In all aspects of our work, Texas Family Initiative (TFI) is dedicated to improving permanency outcomes for Texas. As such, we are excited to announce our new partnership with the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing at The University of Texas at Austin. In this new partnership, TFI, through its program, 2INgage, will be implementing a new case management practice model, through the Texas Permanency Outcomes Project.

This new case management practice model promotes the children’s connections to their birth families, regardless of permanency outcome. This incredibly exciting project is funded by the federal Administration for Children and Families in an effort to improve permanency and wellbeing outcomes for children in foster care as demonstrated on the Child and Family Services Review.

Another primary project partner is the Texas Center for Child and Family Studies at the Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services. TXPOP aims to preserve the continuity of family relationships for children in foster care while nurturing each child’s sense of safety and belonging, regardless of where they live.

“We are so excited for this new partnership with the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing at the University of Texas at Austin. Family ties and family bonds are vitally important, and this new and innovative case management practice model emphasizes that, regardless whether a child is available for adoption or is on track for reintegration,” said TFI CEO Michael Patrick.

Our inaugural meeting with the Texas Institute for Child and Family Wellbeing to kick off the program will happen on July 21 and 22, 2020.
