WICHITA FALLS, Texas (November 22, 2021) – Last Friday, Nov. 19, Texas Family Initiative (TFI) broke ground to kick off renovations for a new residential child care facility in Wichita Falls.

The Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, Rep. Frank, and other community stakeholders and partners joined TFI for this commemorative event.

The facility, which will serve high-needs youth in out-of-home care in DFPS Region 2, is set to open its doors Summer 2022. Additionally, this new facility will also deliver many great high-level career opportunities to the Wichita Falls area. TFI anticipates employing approx. 30-40 staff at this facility.

“We are so excited to bring this much-needed resource to help local kids in the Texoma region,” said TFI President & Chief Financial Officer Richard Wright. “The amount of community support we have received has been overwhelming, and we are excited to continue to partner in this area to strengthen children and families.”

TFI is currently running a capital campaign to raise funds for the renovations of this new residential facility. TFI’s goal is to receive $2 million to go towards this facility. Donate today to make a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of local Texoma children. If you’re interested in donating, please email Fund Development Specialist Steven Mandeville at smandeville@tfifamily.org or visit us online at www.tfifamily.org.

“Taking care of these kids isn’t just on you or me, it takes an entire community-the Wichita Falls community. Your generosity will make a huge difference for some of our most vulnerable children in the Texoma area. We are so grateful to all our partners and donors on this project,” said TFI Senior Administrator Angela L. Nowell.
