TFI staff utilize volunteer opportunity for team building

KANSAS – On Tuesday, August 15, 11 TFI staff joined forces with Numana to pack meals for Ukranian families impacted by the war. This hands-on project not only served as a team building activity for the TFI staff, but will help ensure children and families do not go hungry and without a meal.

Altogether, TFI packed more than 2,000 meals in one hour. Based in El Dorado, KS, Numana, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity formed in August 2008, as an international hunger relief organization. Since then, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, Numana has packed more than 43 million meals that have served the hungry around the world.

“Volunteering with Numana in this team building event was a lot of fun,” said Senior Vice President Rachelle Roosevelt. “It felt good to work with coworkers to help feed people around the world. We work at TFI to help children and families, this just felt like an extension of our every day work.”

TFI is a leading child welfare 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing experience, compassion, quality services and care. Our strength as an organization lies in the fact that we do what is best for children and families. With more than 1,000 staff, we serve children and families across several states.

TFI looks forward to continuing this partnership with Numana, as it gives our staff an outlet to give back to communities in need in a different capacity.

Additionally, we are always recruiting loving caring foster families for children in foster care. Foster parents are essential and vital partners who help TFI provide quality services and support for Kansas children and families.
