Kansas
Jeanne Chambers has been a dedicated and compassionate foster parent in Kansas City, Kan., for an incredible 25 years. Over the course of her journey, she has opened her heart and home to more than 100 children, many of whom were hard-to-place boys in need of stability and care.
Oklahoma
Anne Scalet and Dawn Quinton have been dedicated foster parents for more than 20 years, caring for children in need. Since joining TFI in 2014, they have consistently opened their home to placements, ensuring that children always have a safe, nurturing environment. The family has educated themselves on various foster care needs. They specialize in caring for substance-exposed infants.
Nebraska
Cheyenne and Elani are exemplary foster parents who built positive relationships with the birth parents and supported reunification until the birth parents relinquished their parental rights. They are pictured with Brielle and Tucker at their adoption hearing. Licensed in March 2023, Cheyenne and Elani provided respite for several teens within weeks of being licensed.
Texas
Bobbie and Logan Bailey discussed being a foster family for some time. They finally decided to and received their license with TFI in January 2024. They are now fostering a one-year-old and he is thriving!

Child Seat Safety Tips
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in children in the U.S. and result in injury to over 120,000 children each year. Proper use of car seats can decrease the risk of death and injury by as much as 70% when safety seats are used correctly.

Recruitment Corner
The recruitment team is busy again this April. Here are some highlights:
Kansas
In Kansas, we hosted a fun Trivia Night at The House Café in Ogden on April 4. We had an Easter Egg Hunt in Cherokee on April 12 and we have another Easter Egg Hunt in Garden City on April 18. TFI will partner with other agencies to promote child welfare at Together Kansas in Pittsburg on April 24. The next day, April 25, TFI will partner with the Kansas Department for Children and Families and Kansas Children’s Service League in Garden City to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention. Come see Ashley or Shelby at any of these events!
Oklahoma
In Oklahoma, TFI participated in a prayer gathering with government officials, Oklahoma Human Services, and other agencies at Coles Garden in Oklahoma City on April 1 for Oklahoma children. TFI partnered with OHS and several tribes for “Shine the Light” foster care information night on April 3 in Pawnee County. On April 14, TFI joined 111 Project in a Connecting Church Forum session. Easter week will hold events at Huckleberry Hill Barn in Purcell as well as Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. On April 17, we will join 111 Project again for a Community Gathering at noon. Later that same evening, we will partner again with OHS and several tribes for “Shine the Light” foster care information night in Delaware County. Come meet Travis at these events! Congratulations to Travis and his wife, Cindy, on the birth of their son!
Texas
Our Texas recruiter, Traci, is everywhere this month! On April 3, TFI joined in the Art Walk in Wichita Falls. Then, we participated in The Homerun: Foster a Life event in Lubbock on April 5. We partnered with Midwestern State University for a Social Work Field Fair on April 8. The following day, April 9, we engaged in a KMOC Radio Interview and a KFDX channel 3 Television Interview. On April 10, we hosted a booth at the Super Heroes Super Health Fair in Wichita Falls. We had two KAUZ channel 6 Television Interviews on April 11. The following day, April 12, we hosted Pizza in the Park at the Play for All Inclusive Community Playground in Wichita Falls. On April 26, we will raise awareness at the Child Abuse Prevention event in Wichita Falls. Finally, we will close out April with Dia Del Nino in Wichita Falls on April 30. Come visit Traci!
